October Fun in Fredericksburg 2008

Have I said it lately.......I LOVE FALL!!! We had the best time this weekend with the boys in Fredericksburg. While Johnnie & Triston "messed" around in the pasture with the deer, Dalton & I headed into town to shop (which everyone knows I LOVE to do). I bought the cutest pair of leopard shoes!! YAY for me!!

Saturday night, we decided to take the boys to town to an outdoor dance. Live music and lots of fun. I taught the boys to 2 step, line dance and waltz (which Dalton is good at...poor Triston...has two left feet)!

The weather could not have been nicer!

Oh, and last but not least...I didn't notice how bad Triston needed his hair cut until these photos!!! He is SOOOOO going tomorrow!!

Montgomery Homecoming 2008

2008 Montgomery Homecoming. Keeli cheered Friday night at the game (which we won). She is growing up so fast.
Here are a few pictures with her friends before the game and before the dance. Her daddy almost had a heart attack seeing her in the dress. He still thinks she is 8 and is in denial. LOL
Keeli is a JV Cheerleader, a member of Montgomery Cotillion, Student Counsel and the Art Club. We are so very proud!

Labor Day Weekend 2008

This labor day weekend was long for Johnnie and I. He actually took a vacation day on Friday so that he could have a 4 day weekend. Almost like a mini vacation.

We started out on Lake Conroe. We took our boat out and let the kids knee board and tube. They really enjoyed watching their dad do 360's on the water. We spent 3 of the 4 days boating. We also cooked out on Saturday and ate outside on our patio ...which was really nice.
On Saturday night, we headed over to Mels house for some poker. I won 1st place in the 1st tournament and split the pot with Mel who took 2nd place.

On Sunday, my dad and his wife came in to stay with us for a few days to get away from hurricane Gustav. It was really nice to see my daddy and spend some time with him. Rena took me shopping on Monday to spend some money on the grandkids...which my kids love because Pappa and Grandma always buy them what they want. SPOILED!

2008 Summer Vacation

The Dixon Family annual summer vacation this year was a little different than usual. Due to some "mix ups" on dates, Johnnie planned our vacation this year and decided that he wanted to do the "outdoor" vacation. At first, I was a little apprehensive due to the fact that it was August and was worried about the heat! However, I agreed like a trooper and went along with the "plan". Turns out...it was one of the best vacations that we have had.
We started off on the first day...Johnnie took the boys and went to Houston to the Hunters extravaganza. They came home tired and Triston had lots of stories to tell about the rattlesnakes and all the deer he saw mounted. Keeli and I went shopping, out to eat and to the movies...which was fun!!
On Sunday, we headed out west to our place in Fredericksburg. On the way, we stopped at Washington on the Brazos and then to Smithville (the town where the movie Hope Floats was filmed....wasn't anything like in the movie..lol). We then spent the next 7 days in the "Hill Country". Traveled west on the 2nd day to do some camping and tubing on the South Llano River. The water there was incredible. So blue and crystal clear. We set up a tent and just chilled at the State Park. We also visited the "Devils Waterhole" on Lake Buchannan, where my boys, Johnnie and Keeli dove from 40-50 foot cliffs into the water below. Fun for them...scary for me!
We really enjoyed this vacation and can now all say...we have camped out!! LOL
